The First Summer School on
The Materials Genome Project

This summer school provides an overview of advanced tools for the Design and discovery of new materials through the Materials Genome Project : Theory and practical applications of both density functional theory and wavefunction-based electronic structure methods are included, as well as Datamining tools, Datafiltering, Regression Methods, CPA, Machine Learning, AI, Genetic Algorithm, Statistical methods. The goal of the school is to provide students with the background necessary to understand the materials genome project. The school was May 1-7, 2008 at the Eden Palace Hotel, Oran, Algeria.

MGP School Program

The MGP summer school includes focused sessions on the use and programming of high performance computing, and a hands-on introduction to the Quantum-ASW codes for electronic structure calculations, structural optimization, and ab initio molecular dynamics.

Participants should have some previous familiarity with either electronic structure theory or molecular dynamics techniques.
